Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Dave spent 20 years of his life working in sales & marketing for an international shipping company.

One day, sometime in 1980, while coming home from his job, he randomly decided to stop by a magic store that he passed during his travels each day. The store, Conley's House of Magic, provided The Riz with his first seven magic tricks (technically Dave has performed feats of magic earlier in his life - that is, if you can count him hiding behind the television, plugging and unplugging it, as his sister snapped her fingers, completely mystifying their grandmother).

Dave soon became hooked on performing these tricks and was eager to go beyond merely changing dollar bills into water, and magically converting the penny into a dime.
After several more trips to Conley's Magic Shop, dave became a prime candidate for the entertainment at his children's birthday parties. His repertoire of tricks was growing, as well as his love for the art. This lead him to join the local I.B.M. chapter in early 1983.
